Apex Accounting & Advice

Accounting Services
  • The Challenge

Rowan from Apex Accounting & Advice contacted me in early 2021 because he wanted to update his business branding and website. He needed something that looked more modern and welcoming, but still professional enough for an accounting practice.

  • The Process

Started with the branding in February 2021. Kept blue as the main colour since they’d been using a dark blue already, and it works well for finance – professional and trustworthy. Added some green to make it feel fresher and show growth. Overall the design for the brand needed to look professional but not boring. I was trying to bring some warmth into it.

For the logo, I used leaf shapes for the growth theme and kept everything soft and curved so it felt friendly. The leaves were blended into an “A” shape to convey strength, stability and trust. A gradient was applied to the leaves to add some visual interest.

After the branding was completed, I built the website. Had to make sure it actually worked for bringing in clients, not just look nice. Made pages for each service they offer, added pricing tables, and put together a resources section with things people could download. Made sure it worked on phones and did the basic SEO setup.

I wrapped the project up by mid-March 2021 – took about six weeks all up.

  • The Ongoing Partnership

Since then, I’ve continued handling their hosting and maintenance, plus any updates they need. It’s become one of those working relationships where I know what they want and they know I’ll sort it out properly.

Rowan has also recommended me to other businesses when they’ve needed design work, which is always appreciated.

  • The Outcome

The website analytics since launch show it’s been doing what it should:

    • People are finding them: Over 2,100 search impressions for “apex accounting” with good click-through rates. When people search the full business name, 28% click through – shows people know who they’re looking for.

    • Local searches working: They show up for searches like “apex tax Robina” and other local accounting terms which is exactly what you want for a local practice.

    • Resources being used: The checklist PDF has been downloaded over 730 times since launch, so people are finding it useful.

    • Mobile working fine: 75% of visitors are on mobile and the site handles it well. Over half the traffic is direct visits – people coming back or typing in the URL.

    • Personal recognition too: People search for “Rowan Siepen” specifically and 75% click through. The personal branding is working alongside the business brand.

The site gets around 5,000 search impressions monthly and nearly 7,000 visitors. It’s doing its job as a business tool.

  • Client Feedback

“Amanda has helped me with graphic design and my website. She is efficient, organised, and a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend her to anyone.” – Rowan Siepen, Apex Accounting & Advice

  • Personal Reflection

This project reminded me that you don’t need to overcomplicate things. Rowan wanted a clean, professional design that would help grow his business.

Working with Apex Accounting & Advice over the years means I know what they need and how they like things done. Website updates, hosting issues, new design work – I understand their approach.

I enjoy working with local businesses like Apex. You get to see how proper design actually helps them do better and look more professional. I believe it makes a real difference.
